Detailed timings/Association/Personal responsibilities:
1530 Park opens for event
1600 Erection of Stalls Stall Holders
1630 Attending Veterans, and their families congregate All
in front of VIP platform opposite bandstand.
1645 VIPs arrive, met and greeted by Association/Branch
Presidents and their Spouses/Partners, escorted to Presidents/Ushers.
VIP hospitality 1655 Welcome to all those attending, etc. Int. Vets Day Committee.
1700 Mayor/VIPs address those present.
Mayor of Torrevieja/VIPs.
1715 Chaplains Blessing and short service Revd. Derfel Richards
(1 Minutes silence for all Veterans who have died serving their Country.)
1730 Full Parade form-up at the entrance/exit of Children’s Park
in the
following order:
Parade Commander/ Assistant, plus
RBL Spanish Flag RBL Union Flag
Space
RNA & RMA Standards
RNA/RMA Membership contingents
Space
RBL
Standard
RBL Contingent
Space
Spanish
Flag leading
RAFA Union Flag and RAFA Standard
RAFA contingent
Other International Flags/contingents and those unable to
March in the parade (wheelchairs, etc)
1745 Parade march/walk commences
Parade Commander
to give the order to
move off.
Alpengold Band to provide
musical accompaniment.
1800 Parade disperses at starting point Parade Commander dismisses parade and orders relaxed dress
1815 Festivities commence:
Musical Extravaganza
1815-1845 “Cathy Carson”
1845-1915 “Velvetones” Ladies Barbershop choir
1915-1945 “Alpengold” Band
1945-2015 “Velvetones”
2015-close “DJ SNOOPY”
Other events:
Various stalls open for your perusal/entertainment
Throughout the evening including:
Local school children’s display of winning entries
(theme: How children perceive Veterans?)
Judged by Int. Vets. Day committee, final judgement
By the Mayor of Torrevieja,
“Guess the weight of the cake” (Prize: cake/stand + €20)
“How many sweets in the jar” (Prize: sweets/jar + €20)
“Pick a straw” (Prize: marked straws = €10 each)
1915-2045 “Tug’o’War” knockout featuring members of all
Association/Branches, plus “The Torry Army”,
(holders of the present trophy) maximum of 5 members per team.
€300 prize for winning team provided by Canal Print of Rioja,
Villamartin (966764403), and associates.
2100 All participants vacate the park.
